Emily and Ryan's Wedding Site

Ryan’s family in the Haliburton area will be putting on a wedding shower. The details are as follows:

Saturday July 7th, 1:00pm-5:00pm

Ingoldsby United Church on County Road 17 (the church isn’t on Google Maps but the road is)

Please RSVP ahead of time if you want to attend. You can do so through the Facebook event (invite is required to view, so ask somebody attending if you didn’t get one) or by contacting Ryan’s mom Valerie or sisters Courtney or Katie (if you don’t know them, Ryan or Emily can pass it on).

The RSVP system is now online and can be found easily through the tab at the top of the page. A few things of note for the keeners who might try to sign up already:

• If you can’t sign in, we quite possibly made a simple error filling all the names into the database. Please email Ryan if this seems to be the case. Similarly, if there is a spelling error, please tell us to make sure we do actually know how to spell it correctly – it’s probably a slim chance we don’t but we’d like to make sure before things like placecards are made.
• It does require a passcode. It is the same for everybody but I’m not going to post it here since the whole point is that it stops spam sign-ups which would make it challenging for us to filter out the good results. The code will be sent with the invitations (sending those out in May, maybe June) or you can get it from either of us before then.
• Note that the questions for hotels are not in chronological order. The RSVP form asks for Saturday night – the night of the wedding – before asking for Friday night, the night before.
• Also on the hotel questions, please only ask for the hotel from one of the people who will be sharing each room so we don’t double-book. If you want to make it clear in the Notes section who is sharing each room, that could be helpful to us as well.
• If we forgot a significant other or child associated with you, there is an option to add them to the form. At this point, we can’t guarantee we’ll have enough dinner plates for them if so, but we’ll do our best.
• You can come back and edit your entry at any time up until the deadline, which will be a little more than a month before the wedding.
• The form asks for an email address just in case there is any confusion so that we can contact you to clear it up.

Up until now, the precise time of the ceremony has been To Be Determined. We can now say that the ceremony is officially starting at 3:00pm and the reception is officially starting at 6:00pm.

A few days ago we sent out Save the Date emails to the guest list. If you didn’t get one and feel like you should have, please email Ryan at ryan.robinson.87@gmail.com. You may have been snubbed if we were out of room, or we may have had a wrong email for you. We only sent to one member for each couple/family but for those couples we know both members of, the invitation does extend to them. As per the email instructions, for those who did get them, please email one or both of us with your address so we can mail the official invitations this summer and also let us know if you think you will probably need a hotel room (doesn’t have to be an official RSVP already, but so we can tell the hotels an estimate).

As was mentioned in the Save the Date emails sent out yesterday, we are able to get special rates for hotels in Guelph through the University of Guelph since we are having the reception at the Arboretum there. There are four options available for these special rates, but we are offering to organize for two of them (the cheapest and the most expensive). Below are the descriptions for the two hotels from the information package we received from U of G.

What we will need to know from the guests soon is whether you expect to need a hotel room through us. If you already have any idea of which you’re likely to go for, that would be great, too. Once you are giving an official RSVP we’ll need a final decision (and the question will be within the RSVP form), but we should be fine with estimates for now.  Read the rest of this entry »

The wedding party is officially settled and listed below in no particular order:

Engagement photos have been added to the site, on the page appropriate titled Engagement Photos in the menu. They’re shown there as a slideshow, or you can jump over to Ryan’s Picasa/Google+ if you’d like to view them at your own pace.

Quick update: the wedding date has been set as September 8th, 2012.

The location is Guelph, at Harcourt United Church (ceremony) and the Arboretum at the University of Guelph (reception). Photos for the Arboretum are after the break.

Not much to see here yet, but this is the website for the upcoming wedding of Emily Davies and Ryan Robinson. We’ll be posting updates here, as well as links for things like the registry and to engagement photos on Picasa (ideally embedded – I’ll look into doing that).
